Born on 12^th September1961 at Amainyinta, Ihitte-Uboma, Imo State. I had my primary education from 1971 to 1976 and secondary education from 1976 to 1981.I obtained admission to study medicine in 1981 at the University of Nigeria College of Medicine and obtained MBBS in 1987.I then did the one year housemanship  and the one year mandatory NYSC .I undertook postgraduate medical education with the West African College of Surgeons and obtained Fellowship of the College(WACS) in October 1999. I am also a fellow of the International College of Surgeons .I have been a Senior Lecturer in the College of Medicine UNN and an honorary  consultant Pediatric Surgeon at the University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital Ituku/Ozalla Enugu for many years. I was the acting head of Surgery from 2004 to 2005 and Head of Sub-Pediatric Surgery from 2002-2006. I have more than ten publications in Peer-reviewed journals and authored many chapters in pediatric surgery textbooks.
