Dr Chinwe L Onyekonwu is a practicing dermatovenereologist. She qualified in 2005 with the Fellowship of the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria and was appointed a lecturer/honorary consultant in 2007 by the University of Nigeria/University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital, Ituku-Ozalla.

She has been practicing dermatology and venereology and has also been working actively in HIV Medicine. She teaches medical and postgraduate students, has supervised some postgraduate works and is a member of several local and international professional groups including the Nigerian Association of Dermatologists (NAD), African Society of Dermatology and Venereology (ASDV) and American Academy of Dermatology (AAD). She is the current secretary of the NAD and a past member of the International Affairs Committee of the AAD. She has a Master of Public Health from the University of Liverpool. She is the immediate past coordinator of the sub-department of Dermatology.
