DR UGWU GEORGE ONYEMAECHI IS A SENIOR LECTURER AT THE COLLEGE OF MEDICINE, UNEC AND ALSO A CONSULTANT OBSTETRICIAN AND GYNAECOLOGIST AT THE UNIVERSITY OF NIGERIA TEACHING HOSPITAL ENUGU. HE HAS A BIAS FOR INFERTILITY, ENDOCRINOLOGY AND PUBLIC HEALTH. HE IS A GRADUATE OF MEDICINE & SURGERY OF UNN WITH A MASTERS DEGREE IN PUBLIC HEALTH. HE IS A FELLOW OF NATIONAL POSTGRADUATE MEDICAL COLLEGE AND WEST AFRICAN COLLEGE OF SURGEONS. HE IS THE MEDICAL CONSULTANT OF ROTARY CLUB OF TRANS EKULU WHERE HE CO ORDINATED MANY WORKS IN MATERNAL AND CHILD HEALTH 2012 – 2016 AND ALSO MEDICAL CONSULTANT/ RESOURCE PERSON FOR DFID/UKaid Funded SuNMaP PROGRAMME 2014 – 2016. HE OVER 25 PUPLICATIONS IN REPUTABLE SCIENTIFIC JOURNALS. HE IS RESPECTED AMONG HIS COLLEAGUES AND WAS ELECTED PRESIDENT OF RESIDENT DOCTORS IN UNTH ENUGU IN 2007 AND CHAIRMAN OF NIGERIAN MEDICAL ASSOCIATION ENUGU STATE IN 2014. HE HAS BEEN INVOLVED IN SEVERAL HEALTH ADVOCACY AND PUBLIC ENLIGHTENMENT INITIATIVES ACROSS NIGERIA AND BEYOUND.

 

HE IS CURRENTLY THE CHAIRMAN OF ENUGU STATE HEALTH ADVISORY PANEL AND NATIONAL COMMITTEE CHAIRMAN OF NIGERIAN MEDICAL ASSOCIATION.

 

DR UGWU  WAS APPOINTED(2017) THE FIRST ASSOCITE DEAN OF STUDENT AFFAIRS DEPARTMENT,COLLEGE OF MEDICINE BY THE GOVERNING COUNCIL OF THE UNIVERSITY OF NIGERIA.

 

HE IS ALSO A MEMBER OF THE MANAGEMENT BOARD OF FEDERAL MEDICAL CENTRE,ASABA DELTA STATE, NIGERIA.
