I had primary and secondary education from 1951 to 1961. I obtained the  West African School Certificate in 1961 ,Higher School Certificate in 1964 and General Certificate on Education in 1965. From 1965 to 1970 I had Undergraduate Medical Education at the University of Ibadan and University of Birmingham England and obtained MBChB(B’ham) in 1970.  From 1971 to 1974 , I undertook postgraduate medical education  at the University of Birmingham Teaching Hospitals, Birmingham, England; Dudley Road Hospital, Birmingham, England and Children’s Hospital Bristol, England and became a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS) in 1974.I am also a fellow of the West African College of Surgeons(FWACS),Fellow of the International College of Surgeons(FICS) and fellow of the Medical College of Surgeons(FMCS) . I was appointed lecturer 1 in UNN in 1978,became a senior lecturer in 1983 and a professor in 1992.I was made an Emeritus Professor in 2015. I have more than 25 Publications in Peer-reviewed Journals
