Prof. Bartholomew Chukwu
ProfessorDr. Bartholomew F. Chukwu had his medical training at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka and subsequently postgraduate medical training at the University of Nigeria teaching hospital, Enugu, Nigeria, culminating in the award of fellow of the National postgraduate medical college of Nigeria, in the faculty of paediatrics. He then focused on academics and research career in child health with more emphasis in paediatric haematology and oncology. In the field of haematology, most of his research has been on sickle cell disease. He had training on transcranial Doppler scan which is very important for stroke prevention in children with sickle cell disease. He is currently a senior lecturer in the Department of Paediatrics and associate director in the Institute of Maternal and Child Health, College of Medicine, University of Nigeria.
