I am a Professor/Consultant Otorhinolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgeon; an academic Medical Practitioner with additional interest in Medical Education, a Community Leader with a zeal for sustainable Community Development.

 

ii.  Formal Education:

 

I had primary education at St Michael Catholic School, Akwaeze and secondary education at Stella Maris College, Port Harcourt and Christ the King College, Onitsha. I attended the University of Nigeria from 1973 graduating Bachelor of Medicine (BM) and Bachelor of Surgery (BS) in June 1979. I did internship at the University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital, Enugu Nigeria.

 

My postgraduate Residency training in Otorhinolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery was at the Department of Otolaryngology, University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital, Enugu.  He obtained the Fellowship of the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria (FMCORL) and that of the West African College of Surgeons (FWACS) in Otorhinolaryngology in the year 1990.

 

iii. Work Experiences:

 

Prof Ezeanolue worked at various times as a Medical Officer at the Benue Health Management Board, Benue Polytechnic, Ugbokolo, and, Resident in Otrorhinolaryngology  at the University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital, Enugu. 

 

He is also Honorary Consultant Otorhinolaryngologist to the University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital, Enugu, and the Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital, Nnewi.

 

He is the Founder and Surgeon-in-Chief of Balsam Clinics, Enugu

 

His academic career started in 1991 as Lecturer I at the University of Nigeria. He rose to Senior Lecturer  and Reader and then a full Professor of Otorhinolaryngology at the University of Nigeria in 2005

 

He was the Associate Editor of the Orient Journal of Medicine and the National Postgraduate Medical Journal. He is an International Editorial Adviser to the Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery (USA Journal) and former Editor-in-Chief of the Nigerian Journal of Otorhinolaryngology.

 

iv. Membership of Associations/ Societies/Organizations:

 

Professor Ezeanolue is a member of the Nigeria Medical Association, Otorhinolaryngological Society of Nigeria, Medical and Dental Consultants Association of Nigeria, and International Fellow of the American Academy of Otorhinolaryngology Head and Neck Surgeons, Fellow International College of Surgeons,(Nigeria Section). He is a Fellow of the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria, and Fellow West African College of Surgeons. He is a Knight of the Order of St Mulumba (KSM).

 

v. Positions Held:

 

At various times he held other leadership positions some of which are State Secretary, Nigeria Medical Association of erstwhile Anambra State 1989-90; National Secretary (2001-2004) and National President (2007-2009) Otorhinolaryngological Society of Nigeria; Chairman, Medical and Dental Consultants Association of Nigeria UNTH Chapter 2003-2005; Faculty member of Senate 1995 to 1999, Faculty Secretary 1999 to 2005 and Faculty Chairman 2005 to 2009 in the Faculty of Otorhinolaryngology, National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria. He is an examiner in the Fellowship examinations of the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria and the West African College of Surgeons. 

 

He had been Head of Department of Otolaryngology, University of Nigeria and UNTH for several years. He headed many Committees of the College of Medicine, University of Nigeria and UNTH. He was the Dean of the Faculty of Medical Sciences of the University of Nigeria, Enugu  (2012 to 2014)

 

vi. Family Life and Hobby:

 

He is married with children and grand children.
