PROF. BENEDICT CHUKWUEMEKA
Professor of Medicine
Professor Benedict Chukwuemeka Anisiuba obtained the MBBS degree from the University of Nigeria in1982. He did residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital Enugu. He passed the Part II FMCP Exams in May 1994 and won the Vincent Uzodike Prize as the best graduating Part II FMCP candidate. He was a past Secretary-General of the Nigerian Cardiac Society and the Pan African Society of Cardiology (PASCAR). He is the current Director of the Institute of Molecular Medicine and Infectious Diseases at UNN. He was elevated to the rank of a Professor in 2013. He has 50 publications including 2 book chapters. His research interests include hypertension, valvular heart disease, echocardiography and interventional cardiology.
