Professor Gilbert Adimora is a Paediatrics and child health specialist with sub-specialty of Neonatology. He is a 1979 medical graduate of the University of Benin.

He joined the University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital, Enugu in 1985 where he trained as a Pediatrician obtaining the Fellowship of the National Post Graduate Medical College in 1993. He rose to the rank of Professor in 2010.

He has been the head of the Endocrinology and Neonatology units of the Department of Paediatrics. He is the immediate past Head of the Department.

His areas of research interest include Neonatology, Endocrinology and General Pediatrics.
